Collingwood (COVID-19) Ski Update

It was announced that Ski Hills are included in Provincial Lockdown Measures. Ontario Ski Clubs will be closed December 26, 2020 – January 22, 2021.

Simcoe Muskoka and Grey Bruce Districts – our Ontario “ski country districts” – continue to be under provincial lockdown measures.

The following restrictions are in effect December 26, 2020 – January 22, 2021:

  • All indoor events and social gatherings are not allowed, except with members of your household (or one other household if you live alone).
  • You must limit close contact to your household (the people you live with) and stay at least 2 metres (6 feet) apart from everyone else.
  • Families should not visit any other household or allow visitors in their homes.
  • Virtual gatherings or events are the safest way to visit or recognize occasions with people outside your household.
  • Outside events and social gatherings are limited to 10 people and must comply with 2 metres physical distancing from those outside of your household.
  • Only leave your home for essential reasons, such as work, school, groceries, pharmacy, health care, helping vulnerable people, exercise and physical activity.
  • Wear a face covering indoors; outdoors if physical distancing cannot be maintained; or if wearing one is required.
  • Work remotely, where possible.

December 4, 2020

As of December 4, 2020, the Ontario government has created regional zones, and accompanying measures, to protect Ontario citizens during the difficult and unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Ski Resorts around Collingwood fall into two Health Districts: Simcoe-Muskoka Health District and Grey Bruce Health District.

The Grey Bruce Health District, encompassing The Blue Mountains, is in the YELLOW-PROTECT zone. Collingwood and its surrounding areas are in the more severe ORANGE-RESTRICT zone.

Ski Resorts/Clubs are scheduled to open, snow permitting, mid-December.

The following restrictions are currently in place. 

⁣⁣YELLOW-PROTECT Grey Bruce District: The Blue Mountains, Cranberry, Meaford, & Thornbury.

  • Indoor dining permitted up to 6 people at a table.
  • Liquor service to stop at 11PM, establishments to close at 12AM.
  • Indoor retail permitted with capacity limits and social distancing.
  • Limits for functions, parties, dinners, gatherings held in private residences: 10 people indoors, 25 people outdoors.
  • Limits for religious services including wedding/funeral services: 30% capacity of the room indoors, 100 people outdoors.
  • Sports and recreational fitness facilities: 10 people indoors per room or 25 people outdoors in classes; 50 people indoors in gyms; Mask must be worn while exercising.

ORANGE-RESTRICT Muskoka Simcoe District: Collingwood, Clearview, Creemore, Duntroon, & Wasaga Beach.

  • Indoor dining permitted up to 4 people at a table.
  • Liquor service to stop at 9PM, establishments to close at 10PM.
  • Indoor retail permitted with screening of patrons, capacity limits, and social distancing.
  • Limits for functions, parties, dinners, gatherings held in private residences: 10 people indoors; 25 people outdoors.
  • Limits for religious services including wedding/funeral services: 30% capacity of the room indoors; 100 people outdoors.
  • Sports and recreational fitness facilities: 10 people indoors per room or 25 people outdoors in classes; 50 people indoors in gyms; Mask must be worn while exercising. ⁣⁣
