Why Visit Collingwood?

If you’re looking for a getaway that truly has it all, look no further than Collingwood – Ontario’s only four season vacation destination at the heart of the Blue Mountains. Regardless of your itinerary, Collingwood provides plenty of ways to make the most of your days, from adrenaline pumping mountain attractions to family pleasing events and entertainment.

We’ve put together a few of our top suggestions when it comes to activities. We think that you’ll especially enjoy these handpicked excursions.

In the summer, road bikers have their way. For some of Collingwood’s best stretches of road, ride up Grey Road 19 past the farm and discover kms of vast escarpment land toward Beaver Valley. There is classic “technical” mountain biking at 3 Stage, as well as hundreds of acres of mountain biking trails at Kolapore Wilderness Reserve.

In the fall and spring, enjoy miles of hiking and fall colours on the Bruce Trail, which follows the Niagara Escarpment from Niagara to Tobermory. Check out the local wineries and cideries, including our favourites, Georgian Vineyard and Sidelaunch Brewery. Then we recommend relaxing in front of a big fire with said cider.

Another exciting feature of Collingwood’s Fall line up is a visit to the Apple Pie Trail. Inspired by South Georgian Bay’s apple-growing history, this beautiful trail stretching kms of vast Collingwood land bring together culinary, shopping, adventure, farms and other local experiences that celebrate our history and reinterpret the mighty apple for the 21st century.

In winter, you know what to do. Collingwood is host to Ontario’s best ski resorts. Blue Mountain is the public destination for skiing, boarding and cross country skiing, plus lots of restaurants, live music, and nightlight. Scandinave Spa is an incredible treat after a day of skiing or as a restorative experience for any day of the week. Indulge in Collingwood’s elite private club experience at Osler Bluff Ski Club, Devil’s Glen, Craigleith, Alpine, Toronto Ski Club or Georgian Peaks Ski Club.

If skiing and boarding aren’t your thing, Kolapore’s trails are opened up for miles of cross country skiing or snow-shoeing. Or, check out any number of outdoor skating rinks, snow-tubing or snow-mobiling adventures at Blue Mountain.
